Wii
Thoughts
I wonder if anything will ever top this level of hype and excitement for me — there was so much interest in this console both before and after launch. Talk about a comeback after the GameCube, even though the ‘Cube was a favorite of mine! The Wii had a lot of great titles, but it was also a victim of tons of shovel-ware. Wii Sports as a pack-in title was genius — everyone was playing bowling and tennis regularly at family gatherings!
No one is interested in motion controls anymore (with the exception of how AR/VR does it maybe), but at the time it was a really big deal!
Some of my Favorite Games
- The Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess
- Wii Sports
- Super Mario Galaxy
- Super Paper Mario
- Metroid Prime 3 - Corruption
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii
- Mario Kart Wii
- The Legend of Zelda - Skyward Sword
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl
- Super Mario Galaxy 2
WiiLink
As of 2026 - August 23 - Sunday, I got WiiLink set up on the Wii, which makes all of the original Nintendo apps work again! It’s super cool (and nostalgic) to see the channels come back to life on the Wii menu.
