Carcassonne
Thoughts
Carcassonne is an excellent board game. It’s light enough that anyone can pick it up quickly and has enough flexibility that you can tailor the experience for any group.
The base game comes with a couple of expansions: Carcassonne - The River and Carcassonne - The Abbot, which are essential anyway, but I also really like Carcassonne - Inns & Cathedrals. The latter is only separate expansion that I’ve purchased, but it works well without adding too much nonsense for players that are already familiar with the base game rules.
